Dealing with pet odors. Baking soda is excellent for absorbing odors from carpets and upholstery. Sprinkle it on, leave for 15-30 minutes, then vacuum. For deep-seated odors in sofas, carpets or mattresses, professional deep cleaning is the most effective solution.
Accident cleanup: Act quickly on pet accidents. Blot (don't rub) with paper towels, then clean with an enzymatic cleaner designed for pet stains. Avoid ammonia-based products — the smell resembles urine and may encourage repeat accidents in the same spot.
