Dog hair in the car – why it sticks and what you can do
Dog hair in the car is hard to get out. The hairs are thin and get stuck in the fabric of the seats, carpets and mats. Here is why they stick so well, what you can do yourself and what a thorough vacuum can handle.
Why dog hair sticks in the car
Short, stiff hairs can work their way in between the fibres of fabric and carpet. Every time someone sits on the seat or steps on the mat, the hairs are pressed further down. The longer they are left, the harder they are to get out.
How to stop dog hair settling in the car
- Vacuum often, so the hairs do not have time to settle.
- Use a narrow nozzle along the seams and between the seats.
- Take the mats out and shake them before you vacuum them.
- Put a blanket or a cover where the dog usually lies.
What we do
With the Basic package, the car gets a thorough vacuum and cleaning of all interior surfaces. We vacuum the seats, carpets and mats as thoroughly as we can, including where the dog hair collects.
We cannot promise that every single hair will be gone. Some hairs sit so deep in the fabric that they stay.
If the fabric seats, carpets and mats also need a deep clean, choose the Complete package. We take before and after photos.
